American wire-haired cats
American wire-haired cats are only allowed to have American short-haired cats in their pedigrees when they are recognized as purebred cats. Because they have been bred with American short-haired cats for a long time, they are the same as American short-haired cats in terms of body shape or coat color. Their relationship is like sharing hands and feet. The biggest feature is that each guard hair is hook-shaped or curved in the end, even the beard hair and the hair in the ears are like this.
American Wirehair Cat Morphological Characteristics
Header:General size. Wide and round. The skull is round. Adult male cats must have a double chin and an upright and prosperous muzzle. There is a slight mustache boundary. An excessively short nose has a gentle concave arc. The chin is straight and prosperous.
Ears: Medium in size, widely spaced, with a retractable base opening. The tip is rounded. The eyes are large, round, expressive, and widely spaced. It is better for the complexion to match the coat. The neck is too short and the muscles are overdeveloped.
Build: Medium to bulky. Chest broad. The bones are average in size and the muscles are strong. Legs and claws Length and bony dimensions. Muscles thrive. Round, average-sized claws. Small and oval.
Tail:Length in proportion to body. There is a sense of weight from the base to the rounded tail tip. Almost in line with the back.
Coat: Short, close, and symmetrical. It feels unbearably rough. Slightly curled, with a hook-shaped finish. The hair on the moustache and ears is also curved. Except for chocolate, lavender and heavy heart, all colors are acceptable.
No benign features:Deeply sunken nasal discontinuity. The ears are long, pointed or closely spaced. The eyes of silver tabby cats are not pure green, and the eyes of brown tabby cats are not yellow. A neck that is too short, too thick, too long or too delicate. Too fat or too slender. Thin or too short tail. The tail is carried on the back. Fine, long, silky coat.
