The seven-star saury
p>
Seven-star saury is a nocturnal fish and likes to catch food and move around at night. Because the Seven-Star Swordfish has tiny teeth in its mouth, it is easier to swallow small fish. It is recommended not to keep it with small guinea fish.
Seven-star swordfish can reach a length of 1 meter, and the ones kept in aquariums are shorter. The back of this fish is high, and from the abdomen, buttocks to tail, it gradually narrows and spreads backward to the tip of the tail fin, which looks like a knife. The dorsal fin is short and transparent, and the anal fin spreads from the abdomen to the tail and runs through the caudal fin, forming a long and thin edge of equal width, like a blade. The body is dark gray with oval black spots on both sides of the body, hence the name Seven-Star Knifefish.
The general body length of the seven-star saury is 80 to 90 centimeters. The front part of the body is simple and honest, the tail is small and pointed, and the back is slightly arched. The body is gray and black, and there are 3 to 10 black spots with purple edges on the side of the body from head to tail. The number is variable and varies depending on the fish. There are no black freckles on the body surface of juvenile fish, only 10 to 15 shallow diagonal stripes, and black freckles appear after adult fish.
